Legal & Privacy

Miramono is an independent magazine about photography. We don't sell anything here, we don't run ads and we don't profile anyone. This page explains who publishes the magazine, what happens with the little data we do handle, and which cookies we use.

Who publishes this site

Miramono is published by Fernando Puente, an independent designer and photographer based in Madrid, Spain.

Our online shop is a separate website at shop.miramono.com, with its own legal notice, privacy policy and terms of sale. Anything related to buying, paying, shipping or returns is covered there, not here.

Photographs and copyright

The photographs published in our interviews belong to the photographers who made them. They appear here with their permission, for editorial purposes only.

You may not copy, download, republish, reproduce or use those images for any purpose without the photographer's explicit consent. That includes using them for training datasets or as material for other works.

The rest of the site — texts written by us, the design, the logo and the code — belongs to Miramono. You're welcome to link to us and quote short excerpts with attribution.

If you believe something published here infringes your rights, write to hello@miramono.com and we'll look into it and remove it if appropriate.

Submissions

If you send us your work through our Submit page or by email, you keep every right over it. Sending it doesn't give us any licence beyond reading it and considering it for publication, and we won't share it with anyone else.

If we do publish your work, we'll agree with you beforehand what gets published and how it's credited. We're an independent project and it can take us a while to answer.

Privacy

The person responsible for the data described below is Fernando Puente, reachable at hello@miramono.com.

We only handle data in three situations:

  • You subscribe to the newsletter. We store your email address, and nothing else, to send you occasional emails about new interviews. The legal basis is your consent. The list is managed by EmailOctopus, which acts as our processor. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing deletes you from the list.
  • You write to us or send a submission. We keep your message and your email address for as long as needed to reply and, if relevant, to keep a record of the exchange. The legal basis is your consent and our legitimate interest in answering you.
  • You accept analytics cookies. Then, and only then, Google Analytics measures anonymous usage: pages visited, approximate country, type of device. We never see who you are. See the cookie section below.

We don't do any of this: sell or rent your data, hand it to advertisers, build profiles, or use automated decision-making of any kind.

Who else is involved. Beyond MailerLite and Google, the site is hosted by IONOS, our fonts are served by Adobe Typekit and the images are served from our own servers. Typekit and MailerLite receive your IP address when their files load, because that's how the internet works, but neither sets cookies on this site.

Transfers outside the EU. Google and MailerLite may process data in the United States, under the safeguards provided by the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.

Your rights. You can ask us at any time to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to receive it in a portable format. Just write to hello@miramono.com. If you're not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Spanish data protection authority, AEPD.

Cookies

No cookies are set until you choose. If you decline, or simply ignore the notice, this site stores nothing on your device beyond the record of your own choice.

  • miramono_consent — ours. Stores whether you accepted or declined analytics, so we don't ask again. Lasts 180 days. This one is strictly necessary and is set whichever option you choose.
  • _ga and _ga_71MRMLZE6J — Google Analytics. They distinguish one visitor from another so we can count how many people read us. They last 2 years and are only set if you accept.

Changing your mind. Use the button below to clear your choice: the notice will appear again and, if you had accepted, analytics stops immediately. You can also delete the cookies from your browser settings at any time.

We link to photographers' portfolios, to social media and to our own shop. Once you follow one of those links you're on someone else's site, under their terms and their privacy policy. We can't be responsible for what they do or for what they publish.

Using the site

Use the site sensibly: don't try to break it, overload it, scrape it wholesale or interfere with how it works for other people. We publish the magazine as carefully as we can, but we can't guarantee that it will always be available or free of errors, and we may change or remove content at any time.

Changes and applicable law

We may update this page when the site changes. The date at the top always tells you which version you're reading.

This page is governed by Spanish law. Any dispute will be settled by the courts of Madrid, Spain, unless the law grants you as a consumer the right to your own local courts.
